This morning, Shannen, one of our Camp Activity Officers, spoke with Craig on Bay Spotlight about the positive impact of Gateways camps for people with additional needs.

Creating fun and inclusive experiences
Shannen shared how Gateways offers camps for children, youth, and adults, filled with outdoor adventures, creative activities, and social games. These camps give those with additional needs a chance to try new things in a safe and supportive environment. For kids and youth, the school holiday camps are a great way to have fun and make new friends. For adults, our weekend getaway camps are perfect for relaxing and spending time with friends, or making new ones!

Building confidence and friendships
Shannen emphasised how our camps help build confidence, independence, and social skills. Each client receives person-centred support to meet their individual needs. Shannen shared the story of a client who, once shy and anxious, now leads activities and thrives in group settings. This transformation highlights the lasting impact our camps can have.
