Summer holiday program is a wrap
Gateways Summer Holidays recreation program has wound up after another successful season, with a host of activities and excursions to keep everyone smiling.
Among the adventures were:
- Ballarat Wildlife Park
- The National Gallery of Victoria
- Adventure Park
- Latitude
- Scienceworks
- The Messy patch
- SupaWorld
- Livewire Park, and
- Jpark.
We also had mini golf, a visiting reptile show, a visiting circus, jumping castles, cooking, craft and lots of time out and about in our community.
Over 15 days, we had 103 participants attending a total over 60 programs, supported by more than 30 staff and 21 amazing volunteers.
Our Geelong summer programs received a wonderful boost from the $7900 raised through the 2019 Christmas Gift Wrap fundraiser at Westfield Geelong. The money supported the popular reptile visit, where we got up close and personal with some cool creatures. It also enabled us to hire jumping castles, purchase new toys and games, hold water play activities, buy a new TV for movie days as well as letting us stock up on paint and craft supplies. A massive thank you to everyone who helped make our annual fundraiser such a success!
