Carer contribution celebrated with movie night
More than 20 people enjoyed a night off to relax among friends old and new and watch the Chinese comedy drama The Farewell to mark Carers Week last month.
Gateways Support Services, with support from Westfield, hosted the movie night at Geelong’s Pivotonian Cinema on Tuesday 15 October.
National Carers Week is an annual celebration of the contribution of Australia’s 2.7 million unpaid carers. According to Carers Australia the economic value of unpaid carers is equivalent to about $1 billion each week.
